About Us
Carolina Asphalt Pavement Association (CAPA) was founded in 1949. CAPA represents North Carolina asphalt producers and other companies involved in the asphalt pavement industry. CAPA promotes sustained and increased transportation funding for highway projects, contract resurfacing and pavement preservation. CAPA believes that investing in transportation funding, is the best investment of North Carolina tax dollars. It provides funds to maintain and improve our roads. It also provides jobs to design and build the projects as well as jobs in retaining and attracting business that enjoy a great transportation system.
The road system is the backbone of this great state and it serves every citizen of North Carolina by providing a safe method of transportation for people, goods and services. CAPA members pave the majority of North Carolina's roads, and work with, and for the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to deliver their road program. CAPA and NCDOT constantly work together through committees and workshops, to ensure the highest standards of engineering are used in road design and construction. CAPA members, also work with towns and municipalities to deliver their road programs. CAPA members are honored to provide the materials and manpower to build and maintain roads in North Carolina.
CAPA supports the efforts of the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA), and the Asphalt Pavement Alliance (APA), as they work on the national level to promote, educate and train on asphalt pavements.
